Economics Competition Success
2 November 2018
Sixth former, Sam Christie, has come equal second in the Royal Economic Society's 'Young Economist of the Year' essay competition (there were 1300 entries). Students completed one essay from four potential essay titles, and Sam's essay on GDP measurement was deemed to be the best one on this topic. Only a few weeks ago, Sam also learnt that he had come second in Cambridge University's 'Marshall Society' economics essay competition with an essay on optimal currency areas. These were outstanding achievements, which he greeted with characteristic modesty.
