The 2019 Junior Teach-In orgainised by English Bridge Education & Development, EBED brought together Abingdonians past and present. The Teach-In is one of the main events for youth bridge in the country and saw David Emerson (OA 2006) tutoring those taking part, who included current third year, Freddie Beneat.
Freddie and his partner had a very successful competition winning the main event, the Arnott-Davidson Trophy. They were also in the winning team for the Saturday Speedball competition.
Speaking about the Teach-In, David Emerson said,“It is always a privilege to be involved in helping young players discover more about a game which I love myself, but it was particularly pleasing to see the trophy presented to an Abingdonian. Freddie is also member of the England Under 16 squad – his achievements in the game are already noteworthy and I'm sure there is a lot more to come.”
