Despite the early start, the Swimming Club made the journey to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Pool in London to compete in the prestigious Bath and Otter Cup with great excitement. The U18 team, which consisted of third years Scott Yap and Nicholas Skelton, fifth year Kai Miles, and Swimming Club captain Simon Chester punched well above their weight against over 80 of the top schools in the country including Millfield, Whitgift and Plymouth College. The morning session saw the team finish 3rd in their 4 x 100m Freestlye heat in a time of 3 minutes 53.37 seconds with all four boys setting new personal bests, the team finishing in the top 15 schools in the country. The afternoon session consisted of the 4 x 50m Medley Relays, in which again the team finished 14th in the country in a time of 1.58.93.

Considering two members of the team are eligible to compete in this competition for another 4 years this was a terrific effort from all four boys, clocking two times that last year would have gained places in the respective finals and placed the school in the top 10 schools in the country.
