The weather stepped up to the theme and it was warm enough to have welcome drinks outside at the Year 1 evening. Parents enjoyed a delicious menu of chicken gumbo and blackened salmon and attempted a quiz about New Orleans, Louisiana and (a bit closer to home) lower school life.
Background Dixieland jazz contributed to the atmosphere and first year parents got to know each other better by welcoming the beginning of an Abingdon (if not a Deep South) summer. Many thanks to John, Clive, Emma and Leslie and to Nicola Markham for running the bar.
