The Ogden Trust's Abingdon Primary Science Partnership has been successful in its bid for a second year of funding and support, welcoming Dunmore, Carswell and Thameside Primary Schools to join existing partners Caldecott, St Edmund's, Thomas Reade and Long Furlong. Abingdon Science Partnership is co-ordinating the group and ASP Co-ordinator, Jeremy Thomas, has now been accredited to deliver the Ogden Trust's Primary Science CPD courses. Science co-ordinators from the seven Abingdon primary schools received their day-long training in the Partnership Lab recently, covering Earth and Space topics up to GCSE level, linking these to ideas for enquiry based learning in a primary context and then testing out the ten, Ogden Trust, Earth and Space practical investigations. Each school's representative received a free box of resources to help carry out these investigations, and many others, with their pupils.

The Ogden Trust is offering other primary and prep schools an opportunity to access a similar, all day CPD course on Tuesday 17 October in the Yang Science Centre when four, experienced, Ogden Trust trainers will deliver workshops and mini-boxes of Earth and Space resources for up to eighty delegates. The course is free of charge and anyone interested should e-mail the ASP Assistant [email protected] to reserve a place.
