World Book Day

Abingdon boys throwing themselves into their parts

4 March 2010

For this annual event promoting the pleasure of reading, we hosted the author Chris Bradford for the day. In the morning local schools and a group of home-educated students watched Chris as he demonstrated the sharpness of his Samurai sword, performed some martial arts moves and talked about the inspiration for his stories and the research it entails.

In the afternoon, 1st and 2nd years listened avidly to his talk and then took part in the re-enactment of a scene from the third book in the series, Young Samurai, released that day.

In addition, Chris had co-authored one of the specially produced books for World Book Day and manfully signed all the copies issued that day!
