For the attention of Fifth Year Parents
Boys in the fifth year have been issued with mock exam results slips by their tutors today to be taken home and discussed over the weekend in advance of Tuesday's parents' evening. If, for some reason, the slip does not make it home, parents are encouraged to contact their son's tutor directly if they wish to know in advance the outcome of the mock exams. The exam results will be reprinted on the half term report.
For the attention of Third Year Parents: History Department Trip
Please could you ask students to return slips indicating that they want to come on the History Department Trip to the Battlefields in the last weekend of the Easter Holidays as soon as possible so that we can confirm numbers with the tour operator. If you have any questions please email me at david.mcgill@abingdon.org.uk.
For the attention of First Year Parents: History Squad
Please note that the History Department have organised a morning workshop for the First Years in the activity weekend in the second half of term on Saturday 17 March from 9am-12pm. The workshop will be run by the History Squad (a company that specialise in 'bringing history alive') and will be on Medieval warfare with plenty of opportunities for students to handle weapons and discuss tactics (in a safe environment!). This morning will be free thanks to a grant from the Mercers' Company and it would be great if as many members of the First Year that could come would. It does not clash with any sports fixtures. Letters will be given to boys with more details but please keep the date free. For more information please feel free to contact me at david.mcgill@abingdon.org.uk.
