The Geography of Crime

24 May 2011

Now in its sixth year, the second year attended a workshop presented by Thames Valley Police. This popular and fascinating presentation supports their current topic ‘The Geography of Crime’.

The day covered a huge range of themes:

  • Who is a criminal?
  • What is a crime?
  • The impact of crime?
  • Crime locations
  • Police methods
  • Mapping of crime
  • Police resources

As in previous years, the sessions moved at quite a pace. Broader issues of citizenship including bullying and safety on the Internet also became a focus during the day.

The second year asked a huge number of questions that really made the whole day go with a flow.

Perhaps next year this event should called '50 things you always wanted to ask the police!'
