Prep School Design and Technology teachers from around the country spent a day in the DT workshops at Abingdon School for a training event. Organised by SATIPS a charity that supports and trains teachers in prep schools and run by Dan Hughes ( Head of DT at Abingdon School). The focus of the day was working with wood and teachers worked through a couple of projects including making a door stop and a children’s puzzle, while looking at ways of building in ICT into project work. Katie Smith Head of DT at Abingdon Prep shared project ideas with KS1/2 and other teachers brought along projects to share over coffee. A great day was had by all. On June 9th the second training day looks at using metal and plastics.
