13 December 2022

Over the past week Abingdon School Rugby Club has been celebrating season achievements through various age group award evenings.

On Saturday 3 December, post block fixture versus Bedford School (see the full results here) our annual black tie Senior Rugby dinner took place in the school dining hall. A huge thank you to the parents who decorated the room so beautifully. Excellent speeches by all our Senior Captains, and a lovely evening had by all pupils, parents and staff.

Monday 5 December was the Middle School Rugby Awards in the Amey Theatre where pupils and parents heard from staff about the passion, commitment, and progress of all our teams. The Rugby Club has a bright future with some outstanding achievement and so many pupils loving the sport.

Thursday 8 December brought a week of celebration to a close, with our Lower School Rugby Awards taking place in the Sports Centre Hospitality Suite. A big thank you to Rob Nixon and Harry Taylor (Gloucester Rugby players) for attending the evening and handing out the awards. Post-awards Rob & Harry led a fun and informative question and answer session with pupils and parents.

A wonderful week of celebration and positivity for our Rugby Club after a busy, but brilliant term. Thank you to our parents for your continued support, and to the pupils for the passion and commitment you have shown over the course of this term. We hope you have enjoyed your season and are looking forward to more fun next year. Merry Christmas everyone!
