Reading Town Regatta

26 June 2010

The last fixture of the season saw almost the entire J14 and J15 squads descend on Reading. The J15 1st VIII, recently split into fours, were keen to compete against Radley, but sadly Radley scratched, leaving Abingdon A to beat Abingdon B in the final. There was also an excellent effort from the J15 2nd VIII to hold the Radley J16 2nd VIII to only a length victory. The J14s notched up a 1st and 2nd place in the B quad event, holding off a fast St. George’s crew in the final, while a scratch crew combining the B and C octos beat several crews convincingly (including a few Radley crews!) to win the A octos event, showing the depth of talent in that year; the other octos raced well against other schools A and B octos. The B octo, split into two quads also raced well in the A quad event, narrowly losing out to Radley’s top quad. Overall a very successful end to the season.

  • Winning Quad: Stott, Hearn, Antonian, Lord, Lambe
  • Winning Octo: Yaxley, Cammack, Ashman, Routledge, Burrage, Fanshawe, Miron, Padfield, Mace
