Year 8 CDT

8cdt (1)

04 July 2011

This is the boys last time in the Prep School CDT workroom where the safe use of a wide range of tools becomes second nature. Airboat races take place across the swimming pool having designed and made individual fan propelled boats.  Belt drive vehicles, hovercrafts and designer clocks are some of the electrical projects the boys complete in their last year at school.
Brightly coloured magazine racks and birdhouses are created using wood and some exceptional curve stitching is a highlight of the year. Christmas Bazaar fundraising games become more complex and professional, as does the boys’ technical drawing and graphics work.

The boys design and make a final project of their choice and hopefully leave the CDT department at the end of the year with a broad set of practical skills in every area of the varied CDT curriculum.
