The children have a glittering start to the year as they look at the work of Klimt. The emphasis is on investigating patterns and using bright and metallic colours to accentuate the impact on the viewer. Subtle differences in tone and colour are explored through Kandinsky's abstract paintings. Responding to music to create a piece of art work is always unpredictable in a good way! Using the computers for bold Pop Art is perfect and focuses on design and simplicity. This, along with self-portraits and printing, forms part of the Spring term's curriculum. Have you ever looked at a flower? Really looked? Georgia O'Keeffe was intent on making people stop and take notice of nature by enlarging her work. Our pupils endeavour to have the same effect.
