Year 2 spent the morning doing group work, practising their phonics and the correct letter formation to make the 'ar' sound. The boys had practised reading and saying the sound, then worked out how to write and spell these 'ar' related words. We checked the boys were forming the letters 'a' and 'r correctly – the boys enjoyed extending their learning by being taught the correct join for the letter 'a' to 'r'. They were amazed at how much better their handwriting looked!
