Year 2 CDT

2cdt (6)

04 July 2011

CDT remains classroom based in Year 2 although boys visit the CDT room to make the Nativity characters for the school crib at Christmas. The work becomes more technical, making wind up mechanisms and moving vehicles. The basic concept of forces is covered by making a push along toy.  Some projects are linked to other subjects such as Science where a healthy lunch box is constructed using a card template.  Puppets are made using simple sewing techniques to join fabric and plenty of craft activities reinforce basic cutting and sticking skills. Designing Joseph’s coat is a popular textile project, involving group work.
