Year 1 CDT

Cdt 01

CDT work in Year 1 is taught by a specialist teacher in the classroom and various topics are covered developing basic craft skills. Our moving pictures project inspired some fantastic moving frogs and snowmen as well as more traditional cars along a road. Structures and hinges are studied and some unique hammering takes place in a visit to the CDT room. Sometimes projects are linked to historical classroom topics such as designing and making a home using simple joining techniques. A ‘space village’ has even been created in the past. Food technology is a highlight of the year often involving some truffle making and designing of a fresh fruit salad.
