One of our Year 8 pupils travelled to Cardiff at the weekend to attend the Welsh Capital Open Swimming Gala at the International Pool – this was the first big gala of the season. The pupil swam in nine events across the two days and clearly his training is paying off, as he improved his personal best time in each one. However it was in the backstroke where he really shone, winning gold in all three distances and setting a 50m time of 31.64 seconds, which ranks him number 1 for his age in Great Britain.
