We got on the bus at 1.30pm and the actual walk started at 2pm. I was the leader until I was so bored with being told off for going too quickly! So I went to the back and started walking with Joe. I had the most sweets out of all the other children!
The walk was very long. Altogether we walked 11 miles. We did 5 ½ each day. We didn’t have to carry much, only pants, socks, trousers, a toy or mascot, a water bottle, a T shirt and a suitable rucksack.
When we got to the hostel, we had to put our bags down, do our beds and then we were able to go outside and play in the woods.
We made two dens and we kept stealing each other’s pieces of wood. Then it was a war! Short sticks for weapons! After that we went to the dining room and ate dinner. In the morning we played in the woods, we had breakfast and off we trotted!

Breakfast was great; I had cereal with sugar and croissants. On the way back past fields and bushes, we stopped for lunch – crisps and a sandwich! We finally got to White Horse Hill – I sat on top of the triangular pillar and everyone crowded round me. We took a few photos to show we’d made it!
