Everyone at Abingdon Prep gathered in the Quad just before 11am for a short Remembrance Ceremony. Crispin read a verse from Laurence Binyon's poem For the Fallen and trumpet teacher Andy Townsend played the Last Post before staff and boys observed two minutes silence. The Cavalry Reveille signalled the end of the brief service.
A display in the School hall and our Thursday Assembly told the stories of pupils' relatives and Old Abingdonians who served in wartime. Our 'Field in Poppies' in a sand tray gradually filled up as pupils planted their poppies after the service.
