12 boys from Years 5, 6, 7 and 8 attended the Pinewood 35th Annual Cross Country meeting. 12 schools competed including; Pinewood, Beaudesert, Cheam, Cothill, Summer Fields, Abberley Hall, St Hugh’s, Prior Park and Farleigh. The running conditions were good to soft which was better than expected at the beginning of the day.

In the Under 11 race, Abingdon Prep dominated from start to finish with four of our six runners finishing in the top 20 out of the 90 runners. Quinn finished in 1st place closely followed by Joseph in 4th and Freddie in 6th. The rest of our runners were tightly packed as follows: Jacob (19th), Pedro (26th), and Samson (42nd). It was without surprise that the APS Under 11 team won the team competition!

The Under 13s started at a terrific pace which was maintained throughout the race. Both Rowan (1st) and William (2nd) dominated the race and finished in unison and with hundreds of metres clear of their rivals. The rest of the runners finished in the following positions: Thomas (17th), Dominic (22nd), Johnny (23rd) and George (39th). The Under 13s team finished as well-deserved runners-up.

What a fantastic performance by all of our runners and thank you to all of our parents for their help and support.
