The boys in Years 5 and 6 learned all about Shrove Tuesday in their Middle Section assembly. A highlight of this occasion was a staff re-enactment of the Olney town pancake race! In a keenly contested final, Suzanne Skelton displayed a dramatic burst of speed as well as pancake flipping dexterity to pip Steve Hibberd to the finishing line by the smallest of margins. Furnishing us with all this detail of Shove Tuesday and enthusing staff and pupil excitement in these pancake races was Louise Batho who led a superb assembly.
