As part of the Year One geography curriculum, we made the most of having Millets farm on our doorstep today and visited the centre for the first time this year. We investigated all the fruits and vegetables linked to our harvest festival.

We looked at locally grown fruits and vegetables that only have to travel from the field to the farm shop including apples, plums, carrots, beans, corn on the cob, potatoes and pumpkins. Looking closely at the labels we noticed the distance other fresh produce has travelled, oranges from Spain, tomatoes from Italy, avocado pear from South America and bananas from Costa Rica.
