Abingdon Preparatory School

The Middle School, Years 3 to 5, builds on the nurturing environment of pre-prep, through encouragement of increasing independence. As the boys make gains in confidence, so expectations for more self discipline and organisation emerge.
The boys enjoy use of specialist facilities such as the science laboratory and CDT room and are taught more by specialist subject teachers. In addition to learning academic National Curriculum subjects, the boys now participate in competitive sport, individual music lessons and more complex drama productions.
We are particularly alert to developing talent and recognising individual difficulties in this period and sensitively facilitate appropriate responses to these to ensure that all boys are well prepared for the demands of an upper school.
