Abingdon Preparatory School

Academic Introduction

School pupils

The main aim of Abingdon Preparatory School is to provide a happy and stimulating environment where children can develop their individual talents in security and confidence. We want our pupils to enjoy learning and to receive praise for the progress they make.

Abingdon Preparatory School is a learning school as much as a teaching school. Considerable emphasis is placed on the value of pupils developing good working patterns, together with sound organisational skills. In particular children are encouraged to develop self-reliance and a sense of responsibility.

We aim to provide access to a variety of interesting and appropriate activities chosen from a balanced curriculum that help children to think and, especially, to enjoy what they are doing.

“Abingdon Prep is clearly a happy, successful place, small enough for everyone to know each other but big enough to offer first-class, all-round education.  Not only that, it encourages boys to enjoy lots of fresh air and fun along the way.”
