History Spring Term

Year 8S

This term we shall be continuing exam preparation, looking further at essays and Evidence questions.

Year 8

This term we shall be looking at the Peasants' Revolt  then starting revision and exam practice.

Year 7

We shall be finishing William I then the reign of Henry II.

Year 6

This term we shall be looking at the Crusades in general then the reign of Richard I and his part in the 3rd Crusade.

Year 5

The Navy in the Time of Nelson: Nelson's life and career; the battles of the Nile, Copenhagen and Trafalgar. The Victorians: the Industrial Revolution and working conditions.

Year 4

The Tudors - Study and make comparisons of how the rich and poor lived. Look at homes, food, clothes and schooling. Prepare and evaluate a trip to Sulgrave Manor. Learn about the life of Elizabeth 1.

Year 3

Complete WWII topic including a visit to the Oxford Museum's interactive workshop. Begin topic on Ancient Greeks through the myths and legends of that time.

Year 2

The Vikings - The children will learn who The Vikings were and why they came to Britain. We will look at Viking homes, weapons and crafts

Year 1

Homes - Look at what homes were like in the past and identify similarities and differences between them. Look at a variety of Victorian household objects and discuss how they differ to the objects we use today.
