Eight year old Oliver relished taking charge of Abingdon Prep School for the day, having won the prize to be Headmaster at the School’s Christmas bazaar. Suitably dressed in jacket and tie, Oliver took over from his predecessor, Crispin Hyde-Dunn, settling into the Headmaster’s study before beginning his first task of meeting and greeting boys and parents as they arrived for the school day.

Oliver went on to meet school governor Jon Gabitass and, over hot chocolate and treats, discussed Abingdon Prep, and any particular thoughts he had on new initiatives.

After signing achievement awards for his fellow pupils, Oliver took a tidiness inspection and then joined teachers for afternoon break in the staffroom. The day ended with Oliver reading to the boys in Reception and Year 1.

Speaking about his time in charge Oliver said, “I really liked having hot chocolate and Maltesers in the Headmaster's study!”

Headmaster Crispin Hyde-Dunn added, “Oliver looked very smart and settled remarkably quickly into his new leadership role. Now being in Year 3 Oliver brought to his headship an appealing combination of experience of the school and youthful energy!”
