All the Pre-prep boys and teachers came to school in their sports kit - ready for a day of healthy eating, energy, fitness and activity. The children were asked to bring in an 'only fruit' snack for mid-morning break. We put all of the fruit together and cut it up for everyone to share - what an array of colourful, juicy, tasty fruit - we tasted so many different types! With sticky fingers and fruit-stained, white t-shirts, we made our way back to class. After lunch, we all sported sun hats, water bottles and sun screen - and headed over the bridge to the field, where the challenges such as sit-ups, knee-ups, push-ups, skipping, running around cones, dribbling a football between cones, throwing and catchng a ball and throwing a beanbag into a hoop, were set up.
Steve came over with us, as our official time-keeper, whistle blower and motivator. The children were divided into groups, with a Reception boy and two Year 1 and 2 boys. They moved around the circuit on Steve's whistle, attempting each activity for a minute, helping the members in their group and counting for each other. We stopped for a half time break in the shade, had some cut up oranges and water to 're-fuel' for the second half of the session. It was an excellelnt afternoon of co-operation, excercise, fun, fresh air and sunshine!!
