The Abingdon Prep Under 9, 10 and 11 cross-country teams returned from last Friday’s Cokethorpe meeting, held in bright autumnal conditions, having achieved collective and individual success. The boys competed against 12 other schools including: The Dragon, Magdalen College School, Chandlings, Brize Norton and Cokethorpe.

The Under 9 team of Oliver, Nathan, Zachary, Oliver, Leon, Oli, William, Isaac, Alex and Robert performed with credit. Zachary came 7th, Nathan 12th and Isaac 14th with the others running well.

The Under 10 A team enjoyed considerable success. Firstly, the team of Sam, Josca, Samuel and George came 2nd overall in the team competition. The other six runners which included Iestyn, Ned, James, Jack, Luke and Wilo all ran well. The top four from the Under 10 team were, in reverse order, George (22nd), Samuel (16th), Josca (7th) and Sam (3rd).

The Under 11 A team of Mikey (4th), Finn (9th), James (15th) and Angus (16th) narrowly missed 1st place by a margin of just one place to the Dragon School. The top four runners all finished in the top 20 out of over 90 runners. While Sam, Ollie, Tom and Archie all finished in the top half of the field.

Once again Abingdon Prep has proved its strength on the cross-country course thanks to its talented runners and strong back-up team of trainers and supporters.
