We recently had our annual silver coin collection for this year’s charity – ‘Thinking of Oscar’. This is a local charity which aims to improve the experiences of young children and their families whilst in hospital care by helping to fund new innovation and advanced technology within the NHS.

We decided to cover the letters of the name Oscar. This year there was an added incentive of an inter-house competition – house points being awarded for the most coins laid and the highest amount of money raised. The boys excelled themselves and the letters were soon piled high with coins. The result of the competition will have to wait until all the coins are counted. (I am hoping that by next year the 5p coin will be out of circulation!)
