It was an outstanding day yesterday for all of our cross country runners. Out of 20 schools including; Dragon, Cheam, Cothill, Summer Fields, Moulsford, MCS, Chandlings, St. Hugh’s, Pinewood, Elstree, Farleigh, Beachborough, Thorngrove, Oratory Prep and over 630 runners, Abingdon Prep came second in the boys’ overall competition.

Our Under 8s and Under 9s gained a great deal of experience from competing in this event and have already shown huge improvement since the beginning of the academic year. Our first place APS runners were: Sam in 12th closely followed by Luke in 16th in the U8s, Max was 11th and Finn 14th in the U9s.

The performance of the day came from our Under 10 team who finished 1st and 4th in the individual event and scored an overall total of 34 points in the team competition to finish 1st by a huge margin. What a fantastic team effort! Quinn won by a large margin and is definitely one to watch for the future. Freddie has made huge strides this year by finishing in 4th place. A big improvement on last year.
The Under 11s were not to be outdone. They also won both the individual competition with Jonny leading the way in 1st followed by William in 4th. Both Ludo and Billy (12th and 34th) are both very exciting prospects for the future and will undoubtedly keep both Jonny and William on their toes.
