Year 7

Textiles: Felted paper weights. ICT project: based on photographs by David Hockney. Use Stika cutter with CAD/CAM software to produce a logo.

Year 6

Shelters and buildings: Make a model of a building. Woodwork: Design and make a wooden vehicle. Practise with new electric fretsaw and sander. Textiles: Make animal table decorations for the JPA Ball. Controllable vehicles: Construct a motorised vehicle from a kit to revise gear mechanisms.

Year 5

Food Technology: Design and make bread. Woodwork: Construct a hand held ball bearing game. Practise with new stika cutter and power tools. Moving toys: Design a toy to change rotary to linear motion using a cam mechanism Textiles: Complete textile boards with use of sewing machines.

Year 4

Bridges: Investigate the design and construction of the school footbridge. Design, make, test and evaluate a model footbridge. Textiles: Fabric cases for mobile phones/DS games. Storybooks:Make a linkage or lever mechanism as part of a moving picture.

Year 3

Simple pneumatics: Build a moving monster with pneumatically powered jaws. Balance: Design and make a marble run. Make a jack in the box paper spring toy. Food Technology: Dissect sandwiches and analyse to create a healthy sandwich of their choice.

Year 2

Joseph's Coat: Using a graphics program to design a model of a simple coat linked to the story of Joseph. Puppets: Use basic sewing techniques to join fabric. Create a character for a story.

Year 1

Playgrounds: From observations design and construct simple structures that would be found in a playground.Eat more fruit and vegetables: Investigate the taste, appearance and textures of different fruits and vegetables.
