Craft, Design and Technology is a much loved subject in the school. Boys design and build models in the specialist CDT workroom and learn to use different tools with safety and care.
All parts of the curriculum are covered throughout their time at the Prep School and work is constantly displayed for others to enjoy. Skills are developed and built upon in areas such as woodwork, textiles, mechanics, electricity, structures, technical drawing, construction kits, food technology and computer graphics.
Maintaining the title of Craft in CDT enables many cross curricular primary skills to be practised and the end products are artistically finished. From learning to cut in a straight line with a simple pair of scissors, to using the new CAD/CAM software to design elaborate graphics for the Stika cutter, or using the electric pillar drill with safety, there are many moments of development to celebrate.
Please use the links module on the right of the page to navigate to a more detailed description and display of the work the boys cover. We hope you enjoy our CDT showcase.
