This week was EU Referendum Week at Abingdon Prep, with pupils forming groups to campaign for Britain's status as a member of the European Union. Members of each campaign visited each class from Year 3 to Year 8 to state their case, as well as producing posters and placing them around the school. In Thursday's assembly, Year 3 gave a very informative assembly about the history of the EU, followed by summing up speeches for each campaign given by Ted (remain) and Xander (leave). Pupils visited the polling station in the School Hall this morning. The vote went strongly in favour of the remain campaign, with 69% voting for the UK to remain a member of the European Union, and 31% voting to leave. Well done to all of those who took part.
