Abingdon Prep is delighted to announce exciting new facilities which, subject to planning consents, we hope to have ready for use by September 2017.
The new facilities include an all-weather pitch for hockey, football, tennis and general playtime use. It will be a large space sufficient to include three tennis courts. On Cox’s Field, opposite the main school building, we are planning three new cricket nets on the site of the existing grass tennis courts.
The front four classrooms of Josca’s House will undergo a high quality refurbishment and some of the smaller rooms will be replaced with smart, spacious and modern temporary classrooms in the quad to the rear of the school. In the front garden we also plan to create a secure and attractive play area for Pre-Prep.
We are looking to reconfigure the entrance to the school, improving not only the car parking and drop off arrangements but also the experience for visitors, pupils, parents and staff.
All of these changes are subject to planning and listed building consent and so we cannot be sure of the timing. However, we very much hope to have the work completed by September 2017.
The new developments will make a real difference to the facilities at the Prep School and will enhance the excellent teaching and learning of the school.
