Abbey Meadows

Abbey Meadows

4 July 2012

Another successful Abbey Meadows trip for Pre-prep! At first the weather was not looking too promising but we decided to brave it. Packed into the buses with our delicious lunches we set off towards Abingdon. As a group, we strolled around the lovely gardens looking at the ruins of the abbey, the beautiful flowers, a very impressive statue of Queen Victoria and the creatures that live in and on the river. After that some parents arrived, to share with us our picnic in the sunshine. Then the fun started with some ball games and log climbing. Suddenly we dashed for cover as the heavens opened up briefly. Then it was time for the playground where we climbed, swung and pushed our friends around and around on the merry-go-round.

The weather changed and became overcast and windy but it didn’t stop the boys from jumping in and out of the water fountains. When their teeth were chattering the boys changed into warm, dry clothes and were whisked back to school.
