Friday 4 March 2011
Abingdon School
A small but diverse group of OAs, current pupils, parents and members of staff with an interest in the information and communication technology met at School over drinks and dinner on Friday 4 March 2011. The event was hosted, on behalf of the OA Club, by David Allison (1993).
This event, part of the OA Club's series of professional networking dinners, provided OAs working in this sector with an opportunity to attend a reunion on a professional theme as well as with the possibility of identify young talent amongst give current sixth formers and younger OAs, who in turn were given the chance to chat informally with more experienced practitioners from the industry and glean valuable careers advice. The themes taken up in the after-dinner discussion were extremely diverse and varied from how the manage the challenges of "off-shoring" to the uses which mobile technology had to offer the owners of tropical fish!
You can see who attended this event by downloading a copy of the final guest list. We are very grateful to all those OAs who supported this event and the OA Club's career networking initiative and especially to David Allison for hosting the event.
