Frilford Heath Golf Club
The annual OA Golf Day has a new coordinator this year. David Blombley (1976) takes over from Jack Trenaman (1958), whose brother Ian (1956) started the regular OA Golf Days in the mid-eighties and handed over to Jack in 1993.
David extended a very warm invitation to OAs of all ages to take part the OA Golf Day on held this year at Frilford Heath Golf Club. Players met at the start of the day for coffee and bacon butties before heading out in the morning for nine holes contesting for one of the two trophies that go to each year's winner.
Lunch saw the appearance of Felicity Lusk who was greeted warmly by all, Felicity was very kind and brought some fantastic weather with her to set everyone off for the afternoon session.
After a fantastic Frilford Ploughman’s that revitilised the players, groups of four and three set out for the afternoon session. This constituted the competition for the second trophy, which despite changeable and quite appalling weather conditions at times, was hotly contested.
Everyone then returned to the clubhouse for a quite superb dinner and prize giving, a truly fantastic day all round. Our thanks go to David once again for organising the day. For any information on future events please contact the OA Office.
