‘Much Ado About Nothing’ at the Globe

1 July 2011

At the Globe

Fifty members of the 4th form accompanied by five excited members of the English, EFL, and MFL departments went to London today to see the critically acclaimed production of Much Ado About Nothing, their set play for iGCSE Literature, at Shakespeare's Globe. Despite the discomfort involved in standing up for 3½ hours (for the 'authentic' Elizabethan experience), the boys had a great time and came away saying things like 'that was more like watching stand-up than Shakespeare', 'that was actually really very funny', and 'that makes me want to read more Shakespeare'. The weather was beautiful and the acting superb.
