Lower School Joint Debate

14 November 2011

Today saw a large group of Lower School boys travelling to St Helen's for a joint Lower School Debate. Charlie Landells and Silas Gill spoke against the St Helen's motion of "This house believes that boys have it better than girls", while Darren Maddison and Max Thompson proposed the Abingdon motion of "This house would go to Hogwart's". Lively debate ensued with (mostly) sensible points being made on all sides from the floor. Both motions were passed in the final votes with Charlie Landells being declared the best individual speaker by the judges.
