James and the Giant Peach

25 - 26 May 2011

Amey Theatre

This summer, Lower School presented a lively, colourful, modern take on Roald Dahl's classic "James and the Giant Peach". Our production brought Dahl into the 21st Century by using contemporary dance, song, physical theatre and mime to retell the story of James Henry Trotter, and his amazing adventure with his new found friends across the ocean on a giant peach. The show featured exciting twists such as the Mexican "Cobbler Club" nightclub inside the peach itself, and a rapping, "biker-dude" Centipede! This coupled with some amazing set-construction wizardry from Mr. Fraser-Mackenzie and Mr. Cooper, made for a smash hit production which cast, crew and audience alike all enjoyed enormously.
