Homegrown butterflies

First year Biologists release homegrown butterflies!

The First year biology classes have been looking at the lifecycle of the butterfly in their ecology lessons. Each class had 3 butterfly pavillions and the boys observed the insects from tiny caterpillars through their adolescent phase and into their crysalids. Over a short period the caterpillars underwnet metamorphosis and began to emerge as adult Painted Lady butterflies. In tutor period all three classes released their butterflies into the Biology Department Conservatory for a short period before they finally escaped through the open roof windows.
