Henley Regatta 2010

The 1st Eight comprising of Hugo Mendus, George Rossiter, John Carter, Vassilis Ragoussis, Jamie Cook, Jakob Schleu, William Sadler, Jamie Copus and William Davey maintained the schools outstanding record of performance in the Regatta. The crew progressed with strong wins over Norwich School and Dulwich College to proceed to the quarter finals against Eton.

It was the thirteenth consecutive year that the 1st Eight has reached the quarterfinal or better of the Princess Elizabeth Challenge Cup. Since 1998 the next best representation at that level comes from Radley College with 8 out of thirteen and Eton in third with 7.

The 1st Eight had a strong row against Eton on the Friday but were held off by a better crew to lose by a length and a quarter. Credit must go to Eton who completed their second triple by winning the Final against Kent School, USA by four lengths.

With six of the 1st Eight returning for 2011 the process of preparing for next year is already underway!
