Last week a team of six third years met early in the morning to travel to Bristol to compete in the First Lego League Animal Allies Challenge. They had worked hard in the Michaelmas term, building numerous lego models and the Mindstorms Lego robot whilst also learning quickly how to program the robot to carry out tasks on the game mat. The team produced a poster on teamwork, a presentation on the problems facing red squirrels and took part in the robot game. Their first attempt resulted in a score of 0 points, but as the competition progressed their points steadily increased. A good day was had by all and they return with lots of ideas of how to improve.
