The Drama department presents its final production of the year, jointly with St Helen's: Samuel Beckett's Endgame. Set in an absurdist hinterland, with characters trapped in love-hate marriages of repetition, frustration and mutual reliance, the play pivots on the notion that, as one character has it, "nothing is funnier than unhappiness". Thus, it's not quite a tragedy and not quite a comedy - it's sad, moving, provocative and laughter-inducing simultaneously. Produced by the Lower Sixth in the three weeks they've had since returning from completing their AS exams, it's well worth a viewing in this last week of term.
Pre-show drinks from 7pm in Abingdon's Drama Studio, with the show beginning at about 7.20pm. It runs around 90 minutes with no interval.
