Design Technology

The department has two well-equipped workshops, both in the Warehouse. and a large metalwork area with facilities for welding and brazing, manual and computer controlled lathes and milling machines. There is also small ICT centre in the Warehouse. The facilities are open each afternoon after lessons for boys to pursue particular interests or GCSE project work.

There is a bright and airy woodwork shop that has been recently re-furbished and now houses a good range of tools and machines.

The other workshop is equipped more for working with metals and includes a hot metal area for welding, brazing, casting and forge work. This workshop along with the surrounding storage and classroom area with the CNC machines were re-furbished during summer 2007.

The facilities are open each afternoon after lessons for boys to pursue particular interests or GCSE/AS/A2 project work.
