Tonight the Oxfordshire Lord Lieutenant’s Awards Ceremony was held here at Abingdon School to recognise the achievements of the reserve and cadet forces across our county. Part of the ceremony included the awarding of the Lord Lieutenant's cadet badges. Every year, each of the four different cadet forces across the county nominate one cadet to take on the role of Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet. This is a prestigious role which involves accompanying the Lord Lieutenant to a number of important events across the county. It is held by four of the best cadets across Oxfordshire. This year we are pleased to announce that Cadet Corporal William Sharp from Abingdon School CCF has been appointed to the role of the Combined Cadet Force Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet. This is an excellent achievement and we have no doubt whatsoever that Corporal Sharp will excel in this role. Congratulations from Major Kaye and the whole of Abingdon School CCF.
