Climb Kili 2011

Kilimanjaro

In summer 2011 a group of lower and upper sixth form boys are off to Tanzania with Mr Forth to take on the challenge of climbing Africa’s highest mountain - Kilimanjaro. Standing at 5895m this mountain will be no Sunday afternoon stroll. The boys will trek up through a wide variety of terrain, from cultivated fields, a beautiful alpine forest into a transitional heather zone and on to the rocky, icy summit itself. The boys will have to deal with the significant effects of the extreme cold and high altitude on the way but will be rewarded with amazing views, sunsets and sunrises above the clouds and the satisfaction of being higher than most people have ever been!
