The Oxford Classical Association Reading Competition was held today at Magdalen College, Oxford. 18 Abingdon boys participated, 13 boys from the 4th year and 5 from the sixth form. We have never previously enjoyed such success - in the junior section Abingdon boys were entered in five (out of a possible eight) categories and in the face of fierce competition the boys won four first prizes and three second prizes:
| Junior Latin Prose | Ben Nabnian (1st prize) |
| Junior Latin Verse | Oliver Sayeed (1st prize) |
| Ned Roberts (2nd prize) | |
| Junior Latin Memoriter | George Ruck (2nd prize) |
| Junior Greek Verse | Thomas Fabes (1st prize) |
| Sam Ashby-Crane (2nd prize) | |
| Junior Greek Memoriter | Thomas Kelly (1st prize) |
These seven boys won prizes, but all read extremely well and with notable accuracy. In the senior section we enjoyed less success, but commendations were won by James Jenkins, Zander Cornish-Moore and James Honoré.
