In the annual simultaneous display, twenty selected Abingdon players faced top club player Michael Truran of Witney Chess Club, who also coaches at the School. Mr Truran won 16 games and drew 4, a terrific demonstration of chess skill and stamina. The unbeaten Abingdon players were Edward O'Brien, Alexander Lee, Omri Faraggi and Mr Truran's son Joseph. Omri Faraggi won the best game prize.
