Chemistry Challenge

5 January 2010

The Royal Society of Chemistry run an annual event called 'Chemistry Challenge' to develop and promote 4th form chemistry talent. The challenge consists of a school-based preliminary quiz round which is judged on a Regional Section basis. Section winners then progress to a South East Regional Final which is a 'live' event.

In December two teams entered from Abingdon, run by GBC and MJS.

Team A, consisting of Omri Faraggi, Charlie Hames, Thomas Chan and Luke Carter won the Thames Valley Section competition and will compete in the South East Regional Final at London South Bank University on January 20th.

Team B, consisting of Chris Cooke, Philip Smith, Sanjay Bhattacharya and Matthew Hartshorne were placed a very creditable 5th in the South East Region.
